Lee, Addie

Addie Lee is the stage name of Adrienne Lawner. Lawner worked as a secretary at the publishing company Monument Music, owned by Larry Uttal, when she recorded for Roulette Records in 1957. She recorded for a few other labels, and it seems she never completely gave up performing: according to South Florida’s Sun-Sentinel, she starred in at least one production at her retirement community in 2001. “I’m a performer,” she said at the time. “I’d never say I’m a great singer. But nobody sleeps when I’m on.”
